PERSIB's defender Tony Sucipto couldn't hide his disappointment following a saddening loss against Kitchee of Hong Kong that stopped the Bandung's powerhouse journey in Asia this season. In the one-off match held at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, the host had to suffer first defeat in the campaigns for the first time to the last season tournament's semifinalist.
Despite the failure to progress to the round of Quarterfinal, Tony admitted that the visitors deserved the win and took his time to apologize to Bobotoh who kept supporting the team until the last whistle blown by the referee.
"Certainly I am disappointed, but there's nothing we can do to change the result. I am deeply touched by Bobotoh supports, so I'd like to apologize for the failure to advance to next stages," Tony stated.
Tony conveyed that PERSIB struggled hard to match the level of the HK's treble winners. They're well organized in possession and supported with good strikers up front.
"Congratulation Kitchee for the win. We're down two goals in first half and tried to level in second half. They have quality players, for instance the striker that already scored many goals," he closed.
